According to the New York Times the Algarve is a top preferred travel destination for 2012 and is described as a “sun-drenched region”.The Algarve is said to feature new and renovated “luxury hotels emphasising style, authenticity and eco-friendliness”.
Hotels, including the Hotel Bela Vista in Portimão and the Sagres Martinhal resort, feature in the article by the New York Times.
A natural Algarvean attraction, the Ria Formosa, a national park made up of one of the largest barrier-reef lagoons in Europe, is also discussed.
The newspaper says that travelling to the Algarve might allow the sole enjoyment of “pristine beauty of white sand beaches, for now, at least.”
