Nurses strike scheduled for Friday

Portuguese Nurses Unions SEP and SINDEPOR have announced a strike for Friday accompanied by a rally in front of the ministry of health in Lisbon to demand better working conditions and the hiring of more professionals. The strike, which marks International Nurses’ Day, will take place between 8am and midnight. SEP union leader José Carlos has warned that “forms of struggle” will intensify unless his members win much-needed concessions.
