The Syndicate of Nurses has announced that it is calling off the strike scheduled for November 3-4 due to the vetoing of the State Budget, but that its demands stand. These centre on the ‘recognition and valuing of nurses’, which the syndicate feels has fallen short for far too many years. Talking for the syndicate, Pedro Costa has told reporters nurses now want to see what the parties “have to say to us; how they mean to value our profession if they are elected into form the new government”.
