A £350 piglet bought in Leicester, England, believed to be a micro pig, has surprised its owner by growing into a full-sized 17-stone animal.
When Janey Byrne bought Meeka, she was told by the breeder that the tiny creature would not grow bigger than the size of a springer spaniel.
But, three years later, she has been left with a 5ft-long pig that eats its way through £200 worth of food a month instead of the petite pets made popular by celebrity owners including Victoria Beckham, actor Rupert Grint and Charlotte Church.
According to a vet, Meeka is actually a Vietnamese pot belly pig.
Janey Byrne said: “At first I was disappointed she wasn’t a micro — but now I wouldn’t change her for the world.”
