Noddy enchants children of Portugal

news: Noddy enchants children of Portugal

CHILDREN’S FAVOURITE character Noddy, created by British children’s author Enid Blyton more than 50 years ago, is more popular than ever it seems.

Noddy’s first ever sensational stage spectacular, Noddy Live!, has left the UK to play in Portugal for the first time, and 65,000 children are expected to attend the shows now taking place in Porto and Lisbon. Noddy Live! comes to Lisbon’s Pavilhão Atlântico this week, with performances continuing until Sunday, December 4.

Children (and the big kids among us!) can expect a totally enchanting story, a dazzlingly colourful Toyland as it’s never been seen before, breathtaking special effects, music and all of Noddy’s favourite friends, not forgetting that famous red and yellow car.

Noddy emerged on the children’s entertainment scene in Portugal some years after he had already enchanted young kids in the UK, but now he has well and truly been taken to their hearts. RTP 2 shows a Portuguese language version of the Noddy show twice a day and stores here are brimming with Noddy toys, books and DVDs.

Three performances of the 90-minute show will be taking place per day, at 11am, 3pm and at 7pm. Tickets, priced from 13 to 30 euros each, are available from www.pavilhaoatlantico.pt, Pavilhão Atlântico ticket office, Fnac stores, El Corte Inglés, Agência Abep, Agência Alvalade and Casa Viola. Children under three enter free when accompanied by a paying adult, but no seat will be allocated, the child must sit on the parent’s lap.
