No sign of statue heads after “God is dead” vandalism

There is still no sign of the heads of a statue only recently inaugurated on a roundabout in Torres Vedras. The heads are of St. Anthony, and baby Jesus. In the early hours of the last day of World Youth Day, they were somehow chiselled off the main body of the statue without anyone noticing, and taken away, with a message left behind on a cardboard sign hung over one of St Anthony’s shoulders saying “Deus está morto (God is dead). Repairs to the work are expected to cost in the region of €13,000.
