No more Covid clearance needed for visits to hospitals or old people’s homes

Visitors to hospitals and old people’s homes no longer need to show proof of vaccinations (Covid Digital Certificates) or negative tests. The news was decided today by the Council of Ministers, and will come into effect once it has been published in government gazette Diário da República. The same council decided on the end of ‘passenger locator forms’ for travellers into the country (by plane/ boat). At the press conference today, health minister Marta Temido stressed the need to wear masks in certain indoor settings will fall as soon as Portugal reaches the target of 20 Covid deaths per million inhabitants over a 14-day period.
