Nine people in the municipality of Caminha in Viana do Castelo have been infected with legionella, with the last two cases detected late on Tuesday and this morning, said a public health source.
Contacted by the Lusa news agency, a source from the Alto Minho Public Health Unit said that the two latest patients, aged between 70 and 96, were in the emergency department of the Santa Luzia hospital in Viana do Castelo at around 10am.
Authorities are still investigating the source of the infection.
