São Brás Museum will be providing free entry to an outdoor Summer Night Market on Saturday, July 14.
The event will feature a variety of activities, stalls, musical performances and fashion shows featuring up-to-the-minute clothing and traditional Portuguese costumes.
Commencing from 7pm until midnight, the market, open to both Amigos do Museu and members of the public, will have a selection of Indian, vegetarian and barbecue food stalls catering for visitors throughout the evening.
Entertainment will be provided by five choral and musical groups including the Algarve’s chorus Bella A Cappella, comprising a truly international group of singers. The group recently won a prestigious silver medal at the SABS Barbershop Convention held in Spain. On tour from Switzerland, the eight-piece Orkestar Suma Covjek will be performing jazz renditions and music for late night dancing.
Organisers of the market said: “We aim to provide an eclectic mix of stalls. There is a balance between hand-made arts, crafts and paintings, cleverly recycled materials re-shaped into jewellery and bags and stands displaying items of special interest to local residents.”
The Summer Night Market is located in the gardens of São Brás Museum, close to the centre of town, located on the EN270 (old road) in the direction of Tavira.
