Newsagents and bookstores distributing printed school books say they haven’t received a penny from the government yet, when this time last year, all ‘debts’ had been made. A week before classes begin, SIC television news reports the State owes “thousands of euros”, and hasn’t even managed to issue billing details to reimburse businesses who handed over books in exchange for vouchers. The Ministry of Education however says the situation “will be resolved rapidly”.
