It might not be everyone’s idea of a Happy New Year, but over 150 people have signed up for Ferragudo’s New Year’s Day swim at Praia do Pintadinho.
The weather won’t be too chilly, say forecasts, with “slightly warmer water” than previous years.
The event begins at 11am and is open to everyone, although t-shirts and hot chocolate will only be offered to those who signed up.
Another sea swim is planned for the same day in Vilamoura, where a catamaran will take “the most daring” out to sea for their dip at 2.30pm.
This will be followed by a sunset party at Vilamoura marina at 4.30pm.
