The 18 Algarve Senior Biker members who braved the cold northerly winds on New Year’s Day to the meeting point in São Brás de Alportel were rewarded with an enjoyable ride through stunning scenery.
On the way, a couple of stops were made for coffee, photographs and to watch the half-time entertainment provided by Hans Veninga and Duncan Everson as they demonstrated the advantages of trail bikes when attempting to ride through rivers.
The group then continued to Vale Fuzeiros, near São Bartolomeu de Messines, to restaurant O Gralha for lunch. Apart from a light drizzle, all arrived home having avoided the rain that had threatened all day.
The event was organised and the route planned by Steve Wills and Martin Taylor.
The next rides will be on February 9 when riders will meet in Paderne and on March 14 meeting near Boliqueime.
