Chris Willis (pictured) is the new Yard Manager at Bluewater Algarve Lda Marine Services in Portimão.
Chris, who is now a partner in Bluewater Algarve Lda, served in the Merchant Navy before joining Lloyd’s Register Fairplay.
After 25 years with LRF, latterly as a director of the company, Chris decided to pursue a life-long ambition to sail across the Atlantic.
He acquired Fizz of Cowes in 2008 and sailed to the Caribbean, Florida, and back during 2009/2010 with his family.
When he needed a new generator fitted to Fizz, he decided to visit Bluewater Algarve.
Chris Willis told the Algarve Resident: “Those guys at Bluewater Algarve did such a good job I decided I wanted to be part of the company.”
Along with business partner Paul Mallett and the rest of the team at Bluewater Algarve, Chris shares a passion for boats, both power and sail.
In the future, Bluewater Algarve plans to expand both in the marine services division as well as in the brokerage and new boat sales division.
Chris added: “The most important component in our service to our customers is the quality and expertise of our staff – engineers, brokers and administration.”
