New working group to jazz up promotion of Albufeira

Reflecting on the current state of tourism sector, finding new strategies to promote the Albufeira brand and creating partnerships between associates and local entities are some of the main goals of a new working group created by the Agency of Albufeira Promotion (APAL).

The group’s first meeting was held on Friday, February 10 and was attended by representatives from the local council and associations as well as businesspeople.

The session was led by former Algarve tourism board president and former mayor of Albufeira, Desidério Silva.

“The strategy is to value the role of this institution so that it can be a more effective forum of promotion of the destination, integrating everything that this territory has to offer in terms of tourism,” an APAL statement reads.

Some of the main plans for 2023 were also presented during the meeting, such as farm trips, workshops and plans to participate in tourism fairs.

APAL also aims to promote itself more efficiently, with the goal of attract more associates and expanding its network of partners, it says.
