A new wave of emigration is seemingly on its way unless the government can ring some changes (see top story). According to Expresso this week, qualified emigration is growing exponentially, and there are Nordic countries already reporting “record entries of young Portuguese”. The cost of accommodation and the country’s characteristically low salaries are pushing qualified young people away from the country, and will thus compromise ‘national progress’.
