New trees

A total of 500 cork oak trees were planted in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, near Faro on April 4, to mark World Forest Day.

The initiative was supported by the Civil Governor of Faro, Isilda Gomes, and the institute for nature conservation and biodiversity (ICNB) as well as the Águas da Serra da Estrela water company, which started this action in northern Portugal following the destruction of forests by fires.

The tree planting was carried out in the Ludo area of the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
