Members of the Rotary Club Silves donated a pair of trainers to each child at the Bom Samaritano Children’s Home in Alvor.
Despite the current difficult economic climate, more than €1,600 was raised at a charity walk organised by members Ann Lancaster and Ivan Ellison, enabling them to purchase 30 pairs of trainers.
The walkers were offered a choice of two routes, one a leisurely 3kms and the other a more strenuous 9kms.
They wished to thank everyone, both the walkers and those who made donations, for their support and generosity.
