New team for Allgarve

A new team has been appointed to coordinate the Allgarve regional entertainment programme, headed by Augusto Miranda, Faro Câmara’s former councillor for culture.

As well as Augusto Miranda, who is responsible for the organisation of the programme, the team also includes Nuno Faria, former deputy director of the Ministry of Culture’s contemporary art institute, gastronomy author Renato Costa, Algarve Orchestra maestro Osvaldo Ferreira and Pedro Bartilotti, director of Faro’s art society.

The Allgarve programme is due to start next month and will continue until November, with a variety of events including concerts, art exhibitions and street entertainment.

Allgarve was set up in 2007 by the Ministry of Economy to diversify the Algarve’s leisure offer. Last year, the Allgarve programme included 65 events.
