New teaching pro at Boavista

Almerindo Sequeira has joined Boavista Golf Resort in Lagos as Head Teaching Professional. Almerindo, a fully qualified PGA pro, learned his trade at the renowned Vilamoura Junior Golf School in the early 90s and was chosen by Butch Harmon to staff his new academy and driving range at Vilamoura when it opened in 1999.

For a number of years, he has competed successfully on the Portuguese PGA mini tour. He commented: “Moving to Boavista will broaden my horizons and give me the opportunity to work with club members once again, something I have not been able to do since my days at Vilamoura. I am looking forward to a long association with the resort and, in particular, getting to know the members and starting a junior programme. It is well known that the Boavista championship course is one of the most challenging additions to the Algarve golfing scene and I am delighted to be associated with such a successful operation.”

Almerindo will be offering special introductory lessons and packages for players of all abilities, ranging from 30 and 50 minute lessons at 30 and 50 euros respectively, to a full five-day golf school for groups of up to four people. Lessons can be booked direct with Almerindo on 282 000 125 or via the golf reception at Boavista on 282 000 111.
