New supermarket opens in Portimão

Portuguese supermarket chain Pingo Doce was due to open its latest store in Portimão yesterday (Thursday) along Avenida D Carlos I, in the old Recomar premises.

As well as fresh fruit, vegetables and other supermarket staples, shoppers will also benefit from a take away service offering barbecued chicken and savoury snacks at the new Pingo Doce.

There is also a Pura Vida section in the store offering shoppers a wide range of vitamins, supplements and gluten and sugar free products, as well as a café area for customers to take a break and meet with friends while having a coffee and cake or sandwich.

Pingo Doce belongs to the Grupo Jerónimo Martins food distribution group, which is the current leader in supermarkets and cash and carry’s in Portugal as well as being the largest industrial group of consumable products in the country.
