New station

The first stone of Lagos’ new PSP police station was laid on July 18 in a ceremony attended by Portugal’s secretary of state for internal affairs, Rui de Sá Gomes.

This new facility is due to be completed within 12 months and will have the capacity for between 90 and 120 personnel as well as summer police reinforcements.

Lagos council donated a piece of land near the roundabout at the entrance to the city for the station, which is due to cost more than 1.5 million euros.
