CONSTRUCTION IS set to begin on a new sports park in Loulé, which should be ready in 2008.
The park will be spread across 18.6 hectares and will have four grass football pitches as well as a large children’s play area. Local amateur football teams will be invited to use the facilities and hold matches in an effort to promote football in the area.
There will also be allocated areas for rugby, tennis, motocross, cycling and horse riding.
Loulé Câmara President, Seruca Emídio, said the park will improve the quality of life in Loulé.
There will be heavy emphasis on the preservation of the environment at the park as most of the trees will be preserved and will provide shade for spectators and players alike on hot summer afternoons!
