THE REGION’S largest shopping centre could be constructed opposite Algarve Shopping in Guia.
There has been resistance in Albufeira Câmara, as many believe the Gran Plaza shopping centre is not sustainable and does not comply with the commerce and services plan for the area.
The project has also raised concerns that the EN125 will be unable to cope with the increase of traffic and the construction of a shopping centre will further affect smaller shops in the area.
If the project is approved by the câmara, it will still have to go through several other licensing agencies.
