Olhanense players return for pre-season medical tests and training on Monday and in next week’s publication we will publish a list of Olhanense’s opening league games which commence on the weekend of the 18th/19th August. Prior to that there will be a number of friendlies including Reading, who were recently taken over by Russian tycoon Anton Zingarevich. Some 500 fans are expected to travel from Berkshire for the game on July 27 at the José Arcanjo Stadium, Olhão. Premier League new boys Reading have agreed terms with striker Pavel Pogrebnyak, who has signed a four-year contract with Brian McDermott’s side. The Russian scored six goals in 12 starts for Fulham last season. Another player to watch will be midfielder Danny Guthrie signed from Newcastle United. Reading will also be playing games against Quarteirense on 21st July and Sheffield Wednesday on 24th July; both games at the Quarteira Stadium.
