New school on track in western Algarve

Preparations for the new Aljezur International School have now begun, with the temporary modular buildings due to be installed by mid September.

Meanwhile, architects are working on plans to finalise the CoolSchool building using a system developed to cool the building as an alternative to air conditioning and will be involving students and teachers in these plans at the start of the school term.

“Workshops held by the architects are intended to allow everyone in the school community the opportunity to contribute to the final design, which I think is a wonderful and very unusual ideal,” said Trudy van der Steeg, teacher and director at the Aljezur International School.
