Low cost airline Ryanair is starting a new service between Faro and the Irish city of Cork.
The news came as the airline announced it had transported 1.5 million passengers from Faro airport since it began to operate from there in March 2003.
The new route, which is due to start from June 1, will see flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
