Albufeira Câmara President, Desidério Silva, and the Minister for Public Works, Jorge Costa, recently held a meeting in Albufeira, to discuss proposals for a new road, intended to lessen traffic on the EN125. According to Silva, the proposed EN395 will make travelling into Albufeira easier. “Every year, more and more people are having to use the EN125 road to enter Albufeira. That is why we have to build another road, to make transportation into our concelho easier,” Silva explained. He revealed that tourists and residents will have to continue to drive on the IC1 road, which will then lead to the EN395. Drivers will then enter the city near Albufeira’s camp site, avoiding the EN125 completely. It is thought that the 1km road will be open next year, in time for the peak summer season.
