Sensai opened on July 21 with a unique concept of fusing exotic flavours from Asia and traditional Portuguese gastronomy

 A mix of Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Thai recipes combined with fresh Portuguese ingredients and national culinary practices promise to offer visitors an unforgettable journey of flavours and sensations in an outstanding scenery.

The brand new concept aims to pay tribute to the Portuguese sailing history during the Age of Discoveries.

Sensai features a carefully selected menu by chef Bruno Viegas and his multinational team, which also includes Portuguese-Japanese chef Fábio Terada. The menu will have a diverse variety of sushi to choose from, which stands out for the Algarve’s fish quality and variety.

Signature dishes include the Portuguese version of the Peking duck, a carabineiro (scarlet shrimp) spicy tartar with tobiko roe, avocado and rich cocoa-curry milk inspired by the Thai roots of Anantara, which can be paired with a collection of wines that have received acclaim from Wine Spectator magazine.

Artisanal nigirimakisashimi and usuzukuri are also some of the highlights of the menu, along with Omakase Sushi, Portuguese cozido-style Ramen – a fusion of the classical Japanese soup and the Portuguese stew – and the fish and shrimp Ramen à Algarvia.

To finish this well-crafted dinner, Sensai restaurant presents an artistic dish that will spice up your palate, created by the pastry chef João Silva, which includes apple, yuzu, salted caramel and golden chocolate.
