LUXURY FIVE star resort and spa, Vila Vita, in Porches, Lagoa, was the setting for the world launch of the Porsche 911 Targa 4. Over 1,000 specialist motoring journalists from all over the world descended on the Algarve resort, during the month of September, to test drive the new Porsche and take part in the launch activities.
In total, 26 examples of the new model were delivered to the resort and a special test drive route was organised, taking the journalists along the stunning coastlines of Carrapateira, Sagres and Lagos, before returning to Vila Vita.
“Over 21 days, we hosted journalists from the UK, China, Russia, the US, Germany, Turkey, Portugal and from many other countries,” Ulisses Marreiros, Vila Vita’s sales and marketing director, told The Resident. “This event not only represented a very good business opportunity for the hotel but for the Algarve region as a whole due to all the promotion that took place. It was a pleasure for Vila Vita to host such an event with a prestigious company like Porsche.”
This is not the first time that Vila Vita has hosted a car launch; in recent years, Mercedes, Rover and Smart have also chosen to present their latest models at the luxury resort. Set within a 22 hectare site, the hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World Group and boasts a range of top level facilities.
Perhaps the similarity in the location’s name and the car brand proved influential in bringing Porsche to Porches ….
