New polls show PSD ahead for ‘first time’; PS in ‘accentuated fall’

New polls being made much of the national press today show that PSD social democrats are “for the first time” ahead of PS Socialists in terms of citizens’ voting intentions, with popularity for PS now in what is termed as “accentuated decline”. The prime minister’s decision to retain João Galamba as infrastructures minister after the punch-up at the ministry has “broken records in terms of negative appreciation”, says Correio da Manhã. Expresso headlines its weekly edition with “Portuguese do not want Galamba”. But, the polls conducted by Intercampus and ICS/ISCTE  also show that the Portuguese do not want early elections.in other words, just as President Marcelo has been saying for weeks and months, the government has to govern (and try and avoid all the ‘controversies’ of the recent past).
