New outfit for mascot

The Olhanense Expat Supporters Group has donated a brand new outfit for Moss The Stork.

The popular mascot, launched when Olhanense gained promotion to the Premier Liga in 2009, visits many children’s homes, orphanages, hospitals and schools, where he is extremely popular.

Chris Wright said: “Moss approached us for help and we were only too delighted to arrange for a new outfit.”

The commission was given to Diemortal Ltd, who produce the costumes for many West End (London) stage productions, including Lion King.

The new costume was unveiled at the ‘Os Gorilas’ & Expat Supporters Group Christmas Dinner at the Ria Formosa Restaurant, Olhão last Saturday.

Moss will make his first official appearance at Olhanense’s home game with Beira-Mar in mid-January. Several players and members of the club’s management team joined the revellers.

During the evening the group also presented 20 drill tops and 16 footballs for use by Olhanense’s youth teams.
