SAGRES FORT, Fortaleza de Sagres, is to be modernised and upgraded, including the provision of an interactive museum.
Manuel Pinho, the Portuguese minister of Economy, speaking at the inauguration of the new Hilton Vilamoura on Saturday, said the project is being prepared in a partnership with Ministério da Cultura, the culture ministry.
According to Manuel Pinho, the initial plan includes reconstruction of the existing buildings. The second phase will see all the area surrounding the fort enhanced and, in stage three, a new and interactive museum.
