PORTUGAL’S NEW Health Minister, Ana Jorge, replaced Correia de Campos in another government reshuffle announced on Tuesday by Prime Minister José Sócrates.
The 58-year-old doctor has been the president of Lisbon’s Health Authority and until Tuesday was the head of paediatrics at Ota’s Garcia hospital.
Sócrates’ decision to replace the position of Health Minister was in part due to calls from the public to remove Correia de Campos from office over poor decisions for the National Health Service.
