THE NEW Municipal market in Portimão, which cost around four million euros, officially opened to the public for the first time on Tuesday.
With an area of 8,500 square metres, the market which is located next to the old market will have longer opening times; from Monday to Friday between 7am and 2pm and 5pm until 8pm. The market will also be open Saturday mornings but will close on Sundays.
Although the car park caters for 72 cars, there is a project to build an underground car park in the future.
