New life in Aldeia Antiga

A charming new development is currently close to completion in the heart of the Algarve. The A Predial Liz consortium is putting the finishing touches to the Aldeia Antiga, a new closed condominium, combining the peace of the countryside and the freshness of the beach.

And this is not simply a series of new buildings – the development involves the renovation and expansion of the Morgado São Lourenço, which used to be a refuge and sanctuary in the 17th century.

The complex lies in the freguesia of Pêra, on the road that links the picturesque town of Alcantarilha with the station of the same name. The principal access routes are the EN125 and the Via do Infante.

It consists of 23 two-storey houses that form a little self-contained village with a communal swimming pool at the centre and a coffee shop outside. The houses are paved with stone imitation tile floors, traditional double-glazed framed windows and aluminium shutters. The colours are the result of a blending of old stonework with new designs and the quality of the furnishings is excellent.

All the houses, ranging from T2s to T4s, come equipped with air conditioning and central heating. The project is a very good investment, surrounded as it is by new planned developments in the form of golf courses and hotels. Seven of the 23 houses have so far been sold, mostly to residents. Prices range from 138,000 euros to 210,000 euros.
