Aljezur International School has a new state-of-the-art IT suite.
The new system, supplied and installed by PC Centre in Lagoa, combines powerful multi-media and audio-visual capacity with pioneering educational software, allowing the school to expand its computer-based and IT related syllabus.
This includes graphic design and interactive scientific experiments.
Students have been engaged in a variety of fundraising activities to help finance the new equipment, including a special effort by 12-year old Adam McLauchlan, who raised in excess of €250 alone through a 24-hour sponsored silence.
The school, which opened in 2010, has also recently welcomed a careers counsellor on board, whose guidance is proving invaluable to senior students as they consider the next steps towards their further education and future employment.
Aljezur International School is an official University of Cambridge examination centre and, as well as entering their own students for International GCSEs, is the only open centre in the Western Algarve making its facilities available to external candidates.
