A project to build a new 20 million euro hospital for the Algarve was announced on Tuesday by the Grupo HPP Saúde, which is part of the Caixa Geral Depósitos bank.
Maldonado Gonelha, President of the group, said: “The construction of Faro’s new hospital will start this year and be finished within two years. We already have the land on which to build.”
This new hospital will replace Faro’s existing hospital. Meanwhile, Lisbon hospital will also undergo work to increase its ward capacity.
