New horizons at Galeria Côrte-Real

British artist Martyn Parryman is currently displaying a number of his oil paintings at the Côrte-Real art gallery on the outskirts of Paderne.

A graduate of Wimbledon College of Art, Parryman currently works from a converted sail loft in St Ives in Cornwall, England.

He is familiar with the moods of the Atlantic Ocean, as just like in the Algarve, the sea off the Cornish coast is rarely still.

“But look far off into the distance and it appears to be motionless,” he says.

“This vision creates clarity of mind, and frees you from the clutter and pressure of urban life,” added the artist, who tries to recreate this vision through his work.

His paintings are frequently exhibited by the Royal Society of Marine Artists and can be seen in several galleries in the UK.

Côrte-Real is currently the only gallery in Portugal where his art can be seen.

The gallery is signposted from Boliqueime, Ferreiras and Paderne and is open from Thursday to Sunday, from 11am to 5pm. For further information call +351 912 737 762 or visit the website www.corterealarte.com
