Portugal is due to enter this summer’s ‘3rd heatwave’ from Saturday (August 20), while expectations for September are that it wil be 50-60% hotter than recent years, and 40-50% drier. The forecast has come from various sources today, including minister of interior administration José Luís Carneiro, whose brief includes overseeing the work of Civil Protection.
