New Headmaster at Vale Verde International School

Mr Roger Foreman has been appointed the new Headmaster of Vale Verde International School in Lagos following the tragic death of its late Headmaster, Mr Nicholas Martin, last year.

Mr Foreman has considerable experience of living and working in Portugal, and has held previous headships in British curriculum schools in Jordan and Kuwait.

Mr Foreman gained his first BA degree in English, Music and Economics, as well as teaching qualifications in London, where he taught for several years, before moving to the Middle East, where he continued his teaching career.

Having returned to England to refresh his qualifications in the mid 90’s, he was invited to join friends in the Algarve for a holiday. It was this week long break in 1998 that turned, by chance, into a career move to São Lourenço International School in Almancil. Mr Foreman first visited Vale Verde International School in April 2006, and is excited at the prospect of contributing to the school’s next stage of development.

As of September 2006, Vale Verde International School has introduced AS and A level teaching to its curriculum and is in the process of opening a bilingual primary section, which will be completed in September 2007.
