A new gastronomic event that aims to promote Algarvian cuisine is being created in Faro and will take place between March 16 and 30.
Organised by the Faro Parish Union, the ‘Quinzena da Gastronomia Algarvia’ event is calling on local eateries to sign up and take part.
The idea is that each participating establishment will create a “typically regional menu” including a starter, a main course and dessert as well as a suggested wine.
The only requirement is that the establishments must be located within the parish of Faro.
“The main goal of this initiative is to promote Algarvian gastronomy and Faro restaurants, while also contributing to lessen the impact of seasonality on this sector,” the parish union says in a statement to the press.
Dishes will be made with local and seasonal products and will be “inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle,” organisers add.
