New fruity liquors in Algarve

An Algarve-based company has recently launched a new range of liquors using exclusively fruits produced in the region.

Established since 2011, MYR first launched the myrtle-berry liquor (Licor de Murta) but soon expanded the range to include other trademark flavours such as orange, grapefruit, strawberry, blackberry and melon.

New fruits have now been added to the list of liquors, including peanut, carob, ginger and tangerine, which promise to be a hit this summer not only in the Algarve and the Alentejo, where the range is already sold, but also in Lisbon, a new market for MYR.

The company said: “As well as aiming to vary our range of flavours using especially selected fruits, the image of the product, elegant yet traditional, will hopefully appeal to the most discerning of clients. Our objective is to produce quality and competitively-priced liquors for the restaurant and bar sector, never forgetting the Algarve identity.”
