A new five-star boutique hotel is due to be inaugurated in Praia da Rocha today (Friday).
The beachfront Bela Vista Hotel Restaurant & Spa is set within a historical property, which has been renovated to offer 38 rooms and suites, with a panoramic view of Praia da Rocha, restaurant, bars, swimming pool and private parking.
The building, which was built in 1918, used to belong to a Portuguese family.
Later, in 1934, the property became a small hotel of 15 rooms. However, the owner has decided to re-launch the tourist facility to combine “the vintage ambiance with luxury and modern comforts”.
A spokesman for the hotel said: “Our guests will feel at home in this lifestyle hotel, offering luxury, tasty cuisine and modern comfort.”
A Spa and conferences area are due to open in spring 2012.
