A new fire truck was handed over to the Vila do Bispo volunteer firefighters in a bid to strengthen the municipality’s fire-fighting capacity. The engine, costing €150,000, was largely funded by the EU (85%), with 15% coming from the local council. Mayor Adelino Soares was on hand last Friday to present the fire truck, along with other equipment such as protective suits.
