New fire stations are due to be inaugurated in Salir and Quarteira in Loulé council this year, while plans are also being drawn up for others in the region.
According to Loulé Câmara, around 500,000 euros will be invested to build a fire station in Salir. Quarteira’s new fire station will cost around two million euros replacing the existing one.
Meanwhile, Faro’s new fire station is to be built along Estrada Senhora da Saúde, with work due to start next year, costing 1.5 million euros.
Aljezur’s current fire station is due to be refurbished at a cost of 400,000 euros.
