A NEW price structure for Sintra’s trams came into force recently with standard tickets now costing two euros, while concessionary tickets for senior citizens and municipal workers now cost one euro.
The family ticket has been abolished due to administrative difficulties and low sales, but children under four years will continue to travel free. The measures are aimed at simplifying the issuing of tickets and increasing efficiency with the new price structure, more effectively representing the costs of maintaining the vehicles and the rails.
