Almancil-based companies Penguin and Project Casa have collaborated to open a new Expo Centre in the town, allowing visitors to see the latest in construction techniques as well as energy-saving heating and cooling systems.
The new promotional centre, opposite Apolónia supermarket, has a permanent display demonstrating the companies’ specialist fields.
Project Casa specialise in steel-frame construction and wooden homes, as well as taking on conventional building projects.
Director Daniel Cartwright said: “Our construction techniques offer significant cost-savings through design flexibility, speed-of-build and energy-efficiency.”
Penguin started out as specialists in air conditioning and solar systems, but their expertise now extends to integrated energy-efficient heating and cooling systems across the whole home.
Director Chris Blackburn said: “The Expo Centre allows us to show not only the various aspects in which we specialise – air con, solar, underfloor heating, pool heating etc – but also how these systems can be fully integrated to maximise energy-efficiency in today’s modern homes.”
Also taking space in the centre are Technoloje, specialists in photovoltaic (PV) solar systems and automated home management systems.
Technoloje Director Colin Reid said: “Our technology allows complete management, monitoring and remote control of today’s home systems, including the kind of energy-efficient systems offered by Penguin. By managing your home in this way, even further energy-savings can be made.”
The Expo Centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
