Two three-storey buildings are currently under construction near Algoz, to provide rented accommodation for elderly residents and tourists in a peaceful and tranquil setting.
Residents of Portugal, along with national and international tourists, will be welcome at the top quality development called Lar Quinta São Sebastião, which will consist of a number of fully furnished one, two or three bed apartments, all with en suite bathrooms. Within the development, there will be a swimming pool, plenty of garden space, a physiotherapy room and common rooms equipped with areas for reading, playing games, watching television and computer facilities. Resident nursing staff and dieticians will also be on site to offer advice on individual ailments and afflictions.
For those who enjoy days out, trips to Armação de Pêra, Albufeira and Guia will be organised regularly, so residents can enjoy the independence of shopping or going to the cinema. There will be lots of on-site activities, including painting, gardening and embroidery classes. Cultural visits and walks will also be organised.
Prices vary between 1,200 and 2,500 euros per month, depending on the size of the apartment and the mobility of the resident, and include the use of all the above facilities, as well as medical assistance and nursing. The first phase of construction is almost complete and some of the accommodation may be open as soon as November.
