New Covid variants expected “from countries with low levels of vaccination”

João Paulo Gomes of INSA, public health institute Dr Ricardo Jorge, has warned that the likelihood of new variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is highest from countries where the level of vaccination against Covid-19 is lowest. “It is natural that this will happen”, he told the meeting of experts, attended by various political leaders, at Infarmed this afternoon.
