Lagos Zoo has welcomed a new member to its existing chimpanzee family with Lucas, who arrived at the zoo on August 27.
Lucas came from the Telde Park in Las Palmas on the Canary Islands and will join the two existing female chimps at the zoo.
It is hoped that a breeding programme can soon begin with this latest addition to the chimp family in Lagos.
